Release Notes for Wanguard 7.0
March 12, 2018 - https://www.andrisoft.com - Andrisoft, a world leader in traffic monitoring and DDoS mitigation solutions, announced today a new major release of the award-winning Wanguard software platform.
Wanguard 7.0 brings the following new features and changes:
- Experimental support in Packet Sensor for DPDK 17.11 LTS. With DPDK, Packet Sensor is able to inspect and forward packets between couples of 10 Gbps, 40 Gbps or 100 Gbps ports
- Reports and dashboard widgets can contain new chart types, such as pie, donut or gauge
- New report available in Reports » Tools » Anomalies » Anomaly Distribution
- New report available in Reports » Tools » Filtering Rules » Filtering Rule Distribution
- Two new Console themes: Flat and Black. For a better visibility on NOC screens, the background of all graphs is darkened when using the Black theme
- Redesign of the built-in dashboards which now contain more relevant information
- You can inspect new logs in Response Configuration to see the executed actions and which preconditions where validated or invalidated
- Sensor and IP graphs can display bytes/day, bytes/week, bytes/month when Consolidation is set to AVERAGE, rrdtool is at least at version 1.5.4, and the time frame is big enough
- In Anomaly Overview you can generate new graphs with the total number of anomalies, Filters, filtering rules or BGP announcements per hour/day/week/month/year
- Configuration » General Settings » Data Retention shows the disk path for IP graphs
- Redesign of Configuration » General Settings » Mitigation Options and Configuration » General Settings » Graphs & Storage
- Flow data can be compressed with LZ4 which provides better compression ratio than LZO and uses lower CPU resources than BZ2
- Autonomous System and Country graphs can be stacked
- Row sorting on IP accounting and flow listing reports
- Packet Sensor and Packet Filter supports PF_RING 7.0
- New built-in decoders for the QUIC protocol, as well as for NetBios and UDP-QUIC
- Application graphs show QUIC instead of TELNET and NTP instead of NetBIOS
- New dashboard option to disable widget icons to avoid an unnecessary visual distraction
- Dashboard can contain fixed-size columns
- IP Dashboards can contain Anomalies widgets
- ExaBGP Connector contains a new parameter that limits the number of FlowSpec rules
- New sorting indicators in all widgets containing sorted data
- The badge counters from Reports » Tools » Flow Collectors and from from Reports » Components are hidden to avoid an unnecessary visual distraction
- Sensor Interface selectors from Reports provide a search bar when there are more than 8 items in the list
- Flow tops and listings can be exported in the PDF format
- Scheduled Reports show Sensor graphs in full detail by default
- When Consolidation is not set to AVERAGE, graphs don't show 95th percentiles and Sums because the results can't be accurate
- Fix BGP withdrawals when ExaBGP is used without FlowSpec support
- Thresholds for External IPs can be set in the IP Zone, on the 0.0.0.0/0 subnet
- IP Zones can be populated automatically with prefixes announced in BGP
- Reports » Tools » BGP Operations renamed BGP Routing
- The decoder BAD was renamed INVALID
- Packet Tracer option to zero-out layer 3 or layer 4 payload data from IP packets
- Fix a harmless crash of the Packet Tracer
- Many other minor improvements
